This year, the Kitzbühel Spring Games will be held for the first time to liven up the late winter. A young, innovative format that will take place annually between mid-March and mid-April. From mogul piste contests to bag jumps and water slide contests, the focus is on one thing above all: fun and joie de vivre on two boards.
Bumps & Jumps
Last weekend, the name "Bumps & Jumps" said it all: during the three-day kick-off event of the "Kitzbühel Spring Games" series, participants could compete against each other in mogul skiing and test new freestyle tricks on the airbag. The highlight of the weekend was the Mogul Skiing Contest on Saturday, 19.3.2022, where numerous participants competed for the main prizes, Faction brand freestyle skis.
Prominent support
For the planning and implementation of the mogul slope, element3 brought prominent support on board: Austrian freestyle skier and Olympian Melanie Meilinger accompanied the event from the beginning and was part of the competition jury herself.
"This was a very important starting signal for the future of mogul skiing, which is unfortunately not so well known in Austria - all the better that so many people took part and that everyone had so much fun," the Salzburg native says in an interview.
"We invested a whole week in setting up the ski jump and the mogul slope, which is only possible with our strong partners, first and foremost Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel and Kitzbühel Tourism," reports organiser Manfred Hofer.
Sports & fun of all kinds until mid-April
After the event is before the event - on Thursday, 24 March 2022, the 80s will be brought back to Kitzbühel under the name "Spring Swing" from 24 to 26 March. Participants can prove their "wedel skills" in the wedel contest, judged by riding style, but the original 80s outfit is just as decisive. Guests can also expect live music by DJ Bill Sathrum, food and drinks, as well as mogul skiing and bag jump workshops.
